EXCLUSIVE: Jimmie Allen Talks Career Highlights, 'Best Shot' Video and More

Jimmie Allen is the latest US country music star making waves across the world with his stunning vocal tone and brilliant musical releases. He recently premiered the official music video for his breakout debut single ‘Best Shot’ and earlier this year performed at the prestigious Grand Ole Opry.

Here we speak exclusively to Jimmie Allen to discuss his career highlights, ‘Best Shot’ video, future plans and more;

2017 was a big year for you, what would you say your biggest highlight was?

My biggest Highlight of 2017 was signing my record deal. It’s something I have been chasing since I was 8 years old. So to finally find a label family that believed in me and what I had to say to the world through Music was a life Long dream come true. 

And of course you performed at the Grand Ole Opry this year, what was that experience like?

Playing the Opry was so Surreal. I really feel like I arrived as a country artist once I stepped on that stage. I was filled with so many emotions.

You’ve been welcomed into the country music family with open arms, how happy are you with the response to your music?

I’m very happy with the response, I’ve emptied my heart into my music. Having people accept my music is them accepting me. It’s like joining another family.

You have recently released the official music video for ‘Best Shot’, how are you finding the reaction?

The reaction to Best Shot has been great. A lot of people have said they can relate to the video and love how raw and honest it is.

That song has opened a lot of doors for you, what made you want to release it as your debut single?

After meeting with label they felt the song was relatable and so many people could connect with it. I played it live so many times before the release and the crowd response was always great.

Can fans expect a full album from you soon?

Yes. I’m currently in studio finishing up my full album.

Do you have any touring plans lined up?

I’m touring now. Playing festivals and opening dates for bigger artist this summer in the US and Canada. Making plans to visit the UK this year as well, so I’m hoping that happens.

How would you say your music fits into the current country scene?

Country music is at a great place. There is finally a spot for everyone to create what inspires them. I feel my music fits well. I believe anytime you are being yourself there is always a space for you. People are craving authenticity in a world full of people afraid to be themselves. 

Who inspired your love of the genre?

My father inspired my love of Country Music. That is all he listens too. I had no choice growing up. If you tried to change his radio to anything else you would get your fingers slapped. Haha haha

What are your long term career goals?

I would love to continue making music I love that hopefully inspires others. Be in a few movies and TV shows. I also have a big place in my heart for musical theatre so hoping to be in a play on Broadway in New York City one day. Would love to write a book and do motivational speaking. I really enjoy seeing people accomplish every dream they are Chasing.
